Saturday 11 April 2009 Jack Stubbington Trophy Tongue outToday 6 pairs of ladies were matched against 6 pairs of men from the Swindle for this annual event.  The day was fine and warm and the match was played in good spirit.  The match was halved so the men retain the trophy as they won it last years.  Well done to all those who joined in the fun and played.

April 2009 Daily Mail FoursomesInnocentWell done to Pauline and Julie who won their first round.  Again they should have had home advantage but were drawn against Ba pair from Boscombe Ladies.

Wednesday 18 February 2009 Mail on Sunday CryToday was the first club competition of the season.  We were supposed to have home advantage but were unlucky to draw Boscombe Ladies Golf Club in the first round.  Advantage gone!!  It was a well fought and friendly encounter between plkayers who all knew each other well.  Roz, Pauline, Carol, Sheila and Cheryl tried their best but Boscombe Ladies were too strong and we were defeated 3 games to 2.  Good luck to Boscombe Ladies in the next round.

Thursday 25 September 2008 Bramshaw EclecticKissLaughingRoz and Glo were the morning silver and bronze pairing for this event and played well in the damp conditions.  Cheryl and Pauline were the silver and bronze afternoon pairings and managed to better some of the scores carded by Roz and Glo.  The course was drying out a little when they set off.  Our overall score was 66.75, we were beaten by the narrowest of margins by Botley Park Golf Club who won the salver with a net 66.5

Saturday 20 September 2008 BAGC Roffey Shield The Ladies were knocked into second place by the Juniors however there were some good score.  Well done to Julie who won the best net Ladies with a great score of 67.  Then Sheila had a smashing 70. The rest of the team scores were Sara 76, Stacey 77, Roz 78, Cheryl 79, Carol and Pauline did not fare well as both had an 82.  Only the best 6 scores were to count.  It was a lovely sunny warm day but the golf was difficult as the greens had been dressed ready for the winter.  So well done again to Julie and Sheila who overcame the sand!!

Saturday 12 July 2008 Leven Cup The Ladies entered one team consisting of Stacey, Sara, Sheila, Pauline, Roz and Cheryl in this event.  It is played off the men's white tees but we do get 6 courtesy shots.  The highest nett score is discarded so that the other 5 are counted towards the total team score.  We were not in the running for a prize but did get 3 scores in the 70's and 3 in the 80's.  We enjoyed the day.

Saturday 5 July 2008 White WebbsCryStacey, Sara, Sheila, Roz and Cheryl went to Portsmouth and were beaten 3 1/2 to 1 1/2.  The rain stayed away thank goodness but the wind was dreadful and never stopped.  We did our best but the Portsmouth team were too strong for us.  The match was played it the best of sporting tradition and they were very hospitable.  We were naturally disappointed not to win but we wish them well in the regional final and hopefully the national final.

Monday 16 June 2008 Dorset County FoursomesCrySheila and Cheryl, silver and Sue and Lesley, bronze entered the County Foursomes played at Parkstone Golf Club. I regret to say we did not do too well in this match.

Sunday 15 June 2008 JHB Shield and Cup Cry We entered two teams of four into this event that was played at Meyrick Golf Club.  The names of the teams have not been listed to save face!!  I can only say neither team was last.

Sunday 8 June 2008  White WebbsCool Stacey, Sara, Cheryl, Sheila and Pauline travelled to Tilgate Forest Golf Club in Crawley to play their match in the White Webb's.  Our girls won 4 to 1 on a lovely course bathed in sunshine.  It was a very sporting match, shame there can only be one winner.  The ladies there were very hospitable and everyone enjoyed the day out even though it was a very long drive.

Sunday 1 June 2008 Humphrey BowlSurprisedCarol, Sheila and Cheryl played their first round in the Humphrey Bowl at home against Crane Valley which had to be rearranged as the previous match was called off as the course was closed due to flooding.  Sadly they lost all three matches against very strong opposition.  Two games went to the 18th.  Once we had finished we discovered the handicaps of those we played against.  All I can say is we were totally out gunned and put up a spirited fight in matches played in good sporting fashion and we all enjoyed the games.  Well done to Heather, Mandy and Heather and good luck in the next round.

Monday 12 May 2008  Parkin Cup.CryHard luck to Lin, Pauline and Julie who lost their first round of the Parkin Cup away at Ferndown.  It was a tough match to play away and home advantage definitely helped. Good effort girls.

Saturday 19 April 2008 White Webbs. Our first round saw us drawn at home against Thorney Park B. The weather was awful and the opposition strong but we managed a 3 to 2 win.  Well done to the team, Stacey, Carol, Cheryl, Sheila and Roz.

Sunday 6 April 2008 The Mail on Sunday Classic.  We are drawn to play away  against Parkstone Ladies Golf Club. They fielded a strong team, we tried our best but Cheryl, Carol, Sheila and Sandy were beaten.  Well done to Jacqui who went out last and was the only one of our team to have to give shots to her opponent and she won.  It was bitterly cold and we had sunshine, clouds and snow.  A big thank you must go to the caddies, Bruce, Julie and Sue who battled through and gave much needed support.

Saturday 8 March 2008 The Mail on Sunday Classic 2008. We drew Lee on the Solent Golf Club at home in the 2nd round.  The weather was not kind as it was a damp day with lots of fine rain the cold wind made conditions worse.  Well done to Carol, Sheila, Sandy, Stacey and Jacqui who won through by 3 matches to 2 against strong opposition.

January 2008 The Mail on Sunday Classis 2008. We were drawn against The Isle of Purbeck Golf Club in the 1st round however they had entered the competition in error so we had a walk over to the next round.
